Medica & Oscar

Tulsa Family Psychiatry & Wellness accepts certain Medica and Oscar insurance plans because these plans are administered through Optum / UnitedHealthcare’s behavioral health network.

In other words, while a patient’s insurance card may say Medica or Oscar, the behavioral health benefits are often managed by Optum, which is part of the UnitedHealthcare network. Because we are credentialed and contracted with Optum/UnitedHealthcare for behavioral health, we are able to see many Medica and Oscar members as in-network.

Per Optum’s provider communications, Optum expanded management of behavioral health benefits for Oscar plans effective January 1, 2021, and also took on Medica Individual and Family Business membership beginning January 1, 2021.

Do we take this Medica plan?

    1. Check the payer ID on the front of the card then visit: https://www.medica.com/providers/claim-tools/medica-claim-submission-and-product-guidelines
    2. Find the payer ID in the list and click it. Then scroll down to the Product Fact Sheets section and view the PDF to learn more.
    3. Look at the back of the card and see if payer ID for behavioral health claims is 87726. If so, this is the same payer ID as UHC so we should be ok!
    4. You can also use the provider search to double check: https://www.medica.com/find-a-doctor/individual/harmony-by-medica

Oscar

Like MEDICA, because of our participation in the Optum Behavioral Health network, we can also see patients who have Oscar insurance. You can reference the letter from Optum in the attachment section below.
