The DSM-5, or Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, is the standard classification system used by mental health professionals in the United States. Published by the American Psychiatric Association, it provides criteria for diagnosing mental health conditions and helps ensure consistency and accuracy in evaluation and treatment planning.
