The psychiatric diagnostic evaluation is an integrated biopsychosocial assessment which includes a history, mental status, and recommendation. It may include communication with family and other sources who are considered informants. 90791 does not include psychotherapeutic services and can
only be reported once per day per patient. This code may be used for a reassessment or it can be used more than once for an initial assessment if more time is required. There is no time range for this code.
